Kristen Maye

Kristen Maye is a scholar of Black studies whose research considers questions of knowledge production, field formation and discipline. Her work analyzes Black studies as a field of study exploring the ways that the field functions to expose the limits and contradictions of disciplinary knowledge production. Her work resides at the intersection of cultural studies, critical feminisms, literary and critical theory. She is broadly interested in Black literature as a broad category of creative and expressive form, as well as the strategies Black writers, theorists and creatives employ to render and negotiate the complexities of racialized being and embodiment. She also works as an Associate Editor with differences: A Journal of Feminist Cultural Studies.
